The increase in the level of greenhouse gases into environment, specifically carbon dioxide (CO2), leads to global warming, and limiting its emission has been a primary concern achieve neutrality by 2050. Among various methods decarburization, capture storage/utilization become paramount concerns for separation from exhaust gases. In this paper, widespread technological solutions CO2 are presented discussed reduce footprint source. review elucidates recent technologies under development, including emerging ones with ionic liquids (ILs), membranes, hybrid systems tackle energy environmental issues, along challenges their readiness use. Ionic have appreciably drawn attention as less energy-intensive feasible alternative solvents. Further, it found that system/process significantly decreases penalty could emerge if added ILs/nanoparticles. Finally, future using nanofluids, phenoxide salt, micro-encapsulation explored would be effective technologies.
